Admittedly I'm not as cool as Rhianna, but I have to disagree with her. I can't stand chains. I avoid them like the plague. I fell in love with the chainless method of working a foundation row and have been using it for as long as I can remember.

You shouldn't have to either. I've offered these chainless foundation tutorials in my patterns for several years now. I know there are other tutorials out there, but this one's mine. Hopefully it will help you learn a new skill, push outside your comfort level, and let you grow as a crocheter.
